DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Charlie Ergen has increased his fortune by $4.4 billion over the last year to cement his standing as the richest man in Colorado, according to Forbes magazine, which counted eight billionaires in the state.

The magazine's annual ranking of the world's billionaires -- with Bill Gates again at the top -- included a Coloradan not on last year's list. Kenneth Tuchman, the founder of TeleTech Holdings., tied for No. 1565 on the lengthy list with an estimated net worth of $1 billion.

Ergen, the founder of Dish Network, ranked No. 65 with a net worth estimated at $15 billion. Forbes last year pegged his fortune at $10.6 billion.

Philip Anschutz, the financier whose holdings include entertainment venues and sports teams, was No. 113 with a net worth estimated at $10.4 billion; that's $400 million more than he was worth last year, according to Forbes.

Cable television magnate John Malone, with a fortune of $7.5 billion, was ranked No. 177. The magazine last year counted Malone's net worth at $6 billion.
