KUSA - Since South Broadway is far cheaper to get to than the South Pacific (if you live in Colorado, anyway), those yearning for a Hawaiian vacation have reason to look forward to Saturday.
Adrift, the very, very recognizable tiki bar you’ll see near South Broadway and East Cedar, is reopening on Saturday. It closed for a remodel after it was bought by the same group that owns Little Man Ice Cream.
The new owners say they want to create an authentic – rather than kitschy – experience. Nevertheless, you can still expect to see “a rich backdrop of starry night black, majestic Tiki totems, bamboo walls, twine, decorative blowfish lighting, and a mysterious outdoor thatched bar,” according to a news release.
One of Adrift’s chefs, Shaun Motata, was born and raised in Hawaii and plans to create authentic dishes.
