DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Mag Strittmatter, the former executive director of the Action Center in Colorado, has been named the new president and CEO of Roadrunner Food Bank, an Albuquerque-based food bank.
Strittmatter will start her new position as head of Roadrunner on Jan. 22.
The announcement comes less than a year after Roadrunner Food Bank's CEO and president, Melody Wattenbarger, announced she'd be stepping down later this month after serving in the role for 22 years.
Strittmatter led the Action Center for more than a decade but spent 15 years working there altogether. Based in Lakewood, the nonprofit serves low income residents and homeless people in Jefferson County.
In a statement, the Albuquerque-based food bank said the Action Center's fundraising grew by 600 percent and its workforce added 36 people under Strittmatter's leadership. Wattenbarger also is credited with bringing more recognition in the community for the nonprofit, according to a release. The center recently built a 14,500-square-foot service building, part of a campus that serves as a one-stop shop for those in need.
