KUSA - After years of hype and months of construction, the Stapleton location of Punch Bowl Social is slated to open to the public on Saturday night.
The old air traffic control tower from Stapleton International Airport serves as a beacon of sorts for the neighborhood, and now will be the visual cue that means Punch Bowl.
It was announced back in 2015 the old airport would transform into the Denver metro's second Punch Bowl Social location.
The public won't be allowed in the tower, mostly because it's not ADA compliant and the elevator doesn't go all the way to the top.
Despite that, there are still plenty of places to get lost in the 32,000-square-foot space, and if you're hosting the entire family this holiday season, you might need a breather. 9NEWS toured the facility just a few days before its opening and identified a few places you could hide (read: externally entertain) your guests.
EXHIBIT A: Six lanes of bowling
EXHIBIT B: Private karaoke rooms
If getting drinks and singing is your jam (it sure is mine!), but you like to do so in the privacy of a suite that's nestled in a very public place, this is your chance to fulfill your dream.
EXHIBIT C: Foosball tables
Take your least favorite cousin and wipe the floor with them in a foosball game.
EXHIBIT D: Many, many square feet of outdoor space
This outdoor space includes bocce courts, a waterless pool (trust us, it's actually really cool looking) and all your typical yard games, serviced by a bar that overlooks the turf area.
EXHIBIT E: A 360 bar
Punch Bowl CEO Robert Thompson says this upstairs bar will be a bit more adult-centric. It's also very close to those aforementioned private karaoke suites.
EXHIBIT F: This super cute arcade
Relive your childhood here while playing Marvel vs. Capcom and Donkey Kong Junior.
Tickets to Saturday's opening sold out in just two hours, according to Thompson. After the ticketed event wraps up at 9, the public will be allowed in for the first time.
Here are the holiday hours, in case you do need that break.
