Amid turmoil at parent company, Celestial Seasonings going retro

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Amid some turmoil going on at its parent company, Celestial Seasonings says it's going retro.

Boulder-based Celestial Seasonings says it's bringing back the retro look of its packaging starting tomorrow, as well as introducing five new tea flavors.

“Last fall, we introduced a refreshed tea box intended to modernize our look while maintaining our heritage. But our fans made it clear that our refreshed boxes were missing some of that special Celestial magic. We’ve listened and are excited to return to our classic, imaginative package design," said David Ziegert, general manager, in a statement.

The moves come amid a sea of controversy that's enveloped its parent, The Hain Celestial Group Inc. of New York, which bought Boulder-based Celestial Seasonings 16 years ago.
