DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Skier visits at 21 Colorado mountain resorts were up 10 percent during the first two months of the ski season compared to a year earlier, Colorado Ski Country USA reported Tuesday, with its CEO citing "some well-timed storms" early in the season.
The ski-industry marketing group compared visit numbers from the opening day of the current ski season (Oct. 29) through Dec. 31 to the same period at the end of 2014 at its 21 member resorts.
Skier visits in the early-season period also were 13 percent higher than the average for the last five years — the third straight season of above-average numbers, Colorado Ski Country said.
