Boulder company's drones to study volcanoes for NASA

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Drones made by a Boulder startup are going to study volcanoes for NASA.

Black Swift Technologies said it's received a NASA contract to build the SuperSwift XT drones, which will "explore volcanoes in order to improve air traffic management systems and the accuracy of ashfall measurements."

Financial terms of the contract weren't disclosed.

“The SuperSwift XT will be designed to collect data in harsh environments and will enhance the performance and utility of NASA’s Airborne Science fleet," said Jack Elston, CEO of Black Swift Technologies, in a statement.
