DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Boulder County commissioners Thursday voted to extend the county’s moratorium on processing oil and gas permit applications — in place since February 2012 — through the end of January on an “emergency” basis.
The time will allow county staff to look into a number of issues the commissioners want more information about, with an eye toward incorporating them into the regulations.

- Financial statements, bonding and other evidence that an oil and gas company seeking to operate in the county is financially able to safely operate and clean up its facilities.
- Additional environmental testing of air, water, and soil, including testing before and during production.
