Centennial businessman new chairman of Senate business committee

Colorado State Sen. Jack Tate, a Centennial Republican in just his second year in The Colorado Senate, will chair the Senate Business, Labor and Technology Committee in 2017.

Tate served one year in the House in 2015 and was appointed to replace Sen. David Balmer in late 2015 when the Republican resigned to become political director of campaigns for the Humane Society Legislative Fund. A vice president of Investive Building Projects — the energy-services division of Long Building Technologies Inc. of Littleton — Tate won election to the Senate District 27 seat representing portions of Arapahoe County in November by a margin of 53 percent to 47 percent.
