DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - It was no small question: What is the next big idea for trade in the Americas?
A five-member panel of capitalists and conservationists attempted to answer that question at a symposium late Wednesday as part of the Biennial of the Americas conference in Denver, which has the goal of increasing understanding, connections and productive relationships in the Americas.
It's been 25 years since the North American Free Trade Agreement, which opened up trade in the Americas and by all accounts from panelists has been successful. But what now, asked Maria Bartiromo, global markets editor of Fox Business Network who headed up the panel discussion.
In addition to the need to increase trade and production, Bartiromo said, there is increased demand that growth is not done at the expense of the environment.
Can it be done? She asked.
