Chipotle marketing chief indicted on drug charge is back at work

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc.’s head of marketing, who was placed on leave in June after his indictment on a drug charge, is back on the job as he awaits a court date.

Mark Crumpacker — chief creative and development officer at Denver-based Chipotle (NYSE: CMG) — was reinstated Sept. 8, the Associated Press reported Friday.

Crumpacker, 53, was named in a New York City indictment as one of 18 alleged buyers from a cocaine ring, the Wall Street Journal and other news outlets reported in June.

The New York Daily News in June described the drug ring as a "premium delivery service" that charged "double what the high-quality coke would cost on the street," quoting Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance.
