DENVER - When it comes to leaving a "little something extra" for the driver who brings dinner to your door, Coloradans are the most generous tippers in the nation.
That's according to GrubHub Inc., which operates a website for ordering food to be delivered by nearby restaurants.
On average, Coloradans tip 15.7 percent of the delivered-food bill, versus the national average of 14.1 percent, based on GrubHub records.
And in a comparison of U.S. cities, three Colorado communities hold down the top three spots on GrubHub's best-tippers list. Boulder tops the ranking with an average tip rate of 16.2 percent, followed by Denver (15.7 percent) and Fort Collins (15.4 percent).
