DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - C.R Goodman Inc., a Colorado distributor of craft beers, says it will sell its distribution assets to Breakthru Beverage Group, a New York-based major national wholesale beverage distributor.
Aurora-based C.R. Goodman, established 10 years ago, distributes Colorado craft beer brands such as Left Hand, Upslope, Odd13, Funkwerks and River North along with out-of-state labels such as Delaware’s Dogfish Head and Hawaii’s Maui Brewing.
“With the changing landscape in Colorado we felt the timing was right to make this change for our suppliers, customers and employees,” said Ken Goodman, C.R. Goodman’s owner, in a statement Monday. “We chose our suitor carefully and know the Breakthru team will take the same passion and energy we’ve had for our brands to the next level.”
Terms were not announced. Brewers now carried by C.R. Goodman could opt out of being distributed by Breakthru.
Breakthru, with some 7,000 employees and $6 billion in annual sales, was formed through the recent merger of New York-based Charmer-Sunbelt Group and Chicago-area-based Wirtz Beverage Group.
