Colorado natural gas company makes $580M Wyoming asset purchase

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - A Denver energy company is buying more than 1,200 producing wells and 27,000 net acres in Wyoming from a Houston company.

Jonah Energy LLC said it will spend $580 million to purchase the natural gas and oil-producing properties in the Jonah and Pinedale fields of Wyoming from Linn Energy of Houston.

“With the addition of these assets, we will operate the vast majority of acreage and production in one of the most prolific natural gas fields in North America," said Tom Hart, CEO of Jonah Energy, in a statement.

The company got its name from its initial purchase of assets within the Jonah Field in Sublette County, Wyoming.
