Crocs launches new global campaign with star power on heels of losses

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Colorado-based Crocs Inc. (Nasdaq: Crox) has officially launched a global video and social media advertising campaign featuring celebrity brand ambassadors.

The campaign launch comes just one month after the company reported another quarterly loss, said its CEO would leave his post later this year and that it would close 28 percent of its retail stores.

In December, the shoe maker announced it had signed celebrities to tout its shoes. The global campaign is dubbed "Come As You Are" and features actress and producer Drew Barrymore, professional wrestler and actor John Cena, musician and actress Yoona and musician Henry Lau.

“Crocs has never wavered from its identity: optimistic, versatile, comfortable and not afraid to poke holes in convention. ‘Come As You Are’ is an invitation for people to share their identity, their one‑of‑a‑kindness, which is so important in today’s world,” said Terence Reilly, Crocs’ CMO. “We began to tease ‘Come As You Are’ in March with an influencer-led social campaign and behind-the-scenes videos featuring our celebrity ambassadors on social media. Our fans’ reaction has been tremendous.”
