DBJ: A-line operator facing bigger penalty

KUSA - RTD is slapping a much bigger penalty than first reported on the contractor that operates the A-Line between Union Station and Denver International Airport.

RTD is penalizing Denver Transit Partners $750,000 because of problems with crossing gates that have led to major delays, our partners at the Denver Business Journal report.

The A-line was delayed once again on Thursday because of repairs at some road crossings.

Earlier this week, we reported RTD is penalizing the contractor more than $60,000 for daily performance issues.

A 9Wants to Know investigation found the rail line was plagued with problems leading up to its opening day in April.

It opened on time anyway.
