DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Denver Beer Co. is opening a new location in Olde Town Arvada, taking the taproom style that it helped to pioneer in the Denver area and joining a growing list of craft breweries expanding into the suburbs.
The five-year-old brewery will open a 4,350-square-foot space in the old Craig Chevrolet Dealership at 5768 Olde Wadsworth Blvd. early in 2017. Its first taproom, in Denver’s now-bustling Lower Highlands neighborhood, also occupies a former auto dealership.
Co-founder Charlie Berger said Monday that the brewery wasn’t necessarily looking to expand beyond its existing taproom and a production facility in Denver’s Sunnyside neighborhood that it opened when it began canning its beer in mid-2014.
But when he heard that a building similar to its Platte Street taproom had come open, he and co-owner Patrick Crawford started spending time in Olde Town Arvada and liked the vibe there.
