Denver energy firm files for Chapter 7 liquidation

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - PetroHunter Energy Corp., founded in 2005, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and liquidation with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Denver.

The company filed the petition on Monday, Oct. 17. It had offices in Denver and Australia, according to an archived website.

The company said it had between 50 and 99 creditors, and assets of between $1 million and $10 million and liabilities estimated between $100 million and $500 million, according to its filing with the bankruptcy court. It’s CEO was Martin Oring.

The filing following a phone conference between five of the company’s six board members on Monday to go over the company’s bleak financials.
