Denver jam company nixes Oscar 'swag bag' opportunity

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - A Denver company has said "no thanks" to the opportunity to participate in the Academy Awards' annual Oscars "swag bag" promotion.

Kathy Lee, owner of Modern Gingham Preserves, a Denver gourmet fruit and jam company, said she's been approached previously by the Oscars to participate in the Oscar "swag bag" promotion, but has declined.

The opulent Oscars "swag bag," for those not in the know, is a $230,000 bag of goodies given to each of the 25 acting and directing nominees. It's explained by Upstart Business Journal here.
