Executive Wheels: There's a battery of tradeoffs with the Ford Fusion Energi

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - The first thing you'll probably notice when looking at a 2017 Ford Fusion Energi at a Colorado dealership is the sticker that says the new sedan is rated at 42 miles per gallon using gasoline.

And then there's another big number: the combined gasoline/electricity number, or “miles per gallon equivalent” (MPGe), and the Fusion Energi gets a 97!

Whoa!

You have to think those are great numbers, even if you've never seen an MPGe number previously.

There are reasons why those numbers are so high.
