Fight that Dish called an 'unbelievable loss of compassion' is over

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - The programming rights fee fight in Puerto Rico that had Dish Network Corp. describing its adversary as one with "an unbelievable lack of compassion" is over.

The two-month-long skirmish between Douglas County-based Dish (Nasdaq: DISH) and Lilly Broadcasting, which carries channels in Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and three other markets in Pennsylvania, New York and Hawaii, ended Thursday night.

The fight got pretty nasty.

In early October, Dish accused Lilly of using the catastrophic hurricane that devastated Puerto Rico "to create ‘deal leverage" in the rights discussions.
