Gevo's fuel now powering cars and trucks in Texas

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Biofuel producer Gevo Inc. said its gasoline blended with isobutanol is now for sale at commercial gas stations in Houston.

The Douglas County company said Musket Corporation is now selling the fuel at Buc-ee’s, a 37-store regional chain of rest stops in Texas.

It's the first time Gevo’s isobutanol fuel has been aimed at on-road cars and trucks, Gevo said.

"The 12.5 percent blend of isobutanol and gasoline is attractive to customers who are looking for a high-performance alternative to ethanol-blended gasoline. The on-road gasoline market represents a much larger market opportunity for isobutanol than specialty segments," the company said in a statement.
