How the American Ninja Warrior 'Wolfpack' is leveraging its TV success to grow a business

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - On Monday night, competitors from all over the country will take on what is hailed as the most challenging obstacle course in the nation for the 2016 season finale of American Ninja Warrior.

But while those "ninja warriors" prep for one of the biggest nights of their lives, a small group of Colorado-famed athletes are gearing up for a big push of their own — to leverage their TV stardom to grow a business that seeks to help educate kids about fitness.

" Our brand is the biggest sub-brand within the Ninja Warrior franchise," said Noah Kaufman, a former ANW competitor, physician and co-owner of Ninja Sports Group. "People think of us as authorities and role models."

Kaufman is a member of "Wolfpack Ninja," a Colorado-based sub-group of ANW whose members have almost always gone on to the national finals in Las Vegas. Last season, former member and past Boulder resident Isaac Caldiero became the first person to win the $1 million grand prize on last year's show.
