How to get free beer (if you're willing to go for a hike)

KUSA - Here in Colorado, we like the great outdoors. We also like beer. So it makes sense we try to combine them whenever we can.

Enter Upslope Brewing Company’s backcountry taproom, which hopes to entice you with beer in exchange for hiking 3.1 miles.

The second-annual event is scheduled for Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Vance's Cabin, which is north of Leadville.

When you finish the hike, Upslope will give you a free can of Fresh Hop IPA, in addition to two more cans of their other styles. And if you aren't quite up to hiking the 3.1 miles back to the trailhead without some food, Upslope will have a grill where you can toss your own camping fare.

It should go without saying, but make sure to bring your ID!
