Liberty Media may take the wheel in Formula One racing

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Rumors that John Malone’s Liberty Media is buying a major stake in the Formula 1 car racing circuit rolled through the European business press during America’s holiday weekend.

Whether there’s a deal about to hit the checkered flag remains to be seen.

Reports ranged from, early in the weekend, auto racing blogs saying Liberty Media’s buying the 21-race international franchise, to the English-language broadsheets saying later that Liberty’s arranging to own a 10 to 15 percent stake in Formula 1.
