DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - The largest hospitality merger to date is poised to close Friday, after the Chinese Ministry of Commerce approved the deal between Marriott International Inc. (Nasdaq: MAR) and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. (NYSE: HOT).
Starwood is parent of the Sheraton, Westin, W and St. Regis brands.
In metro Denver, 10 of the 25 largest hotels by room count carry one of the two companies' brands, according to Denver Business Journal List research.
Marriott announced that it had received the Chinese regulator’s nod Tuesday.
