DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - The former headquarters of Sports Authority in Englewood is turning into a climbing gym.
Climbing and fitness company Earth Treks, which already operates a 29,000-square-foot climbing gym in Golden, said it will build a 52,000-square-foot climbing gym at the old Sports Authority headquarters building.
"Earth Treks Englewood will be the largest gym in the nation! In addition to world-class roped climbing and bouldering terrain, Englewood guests will find their favorite amenities including a yoga studio, fitness and cardio zones, system & campus boards, climbing classes, a retail gear shop and on-site child care," the company said in a statement, adding that the facility will open sometime next year.
Last month, the former Sports Authority headquarters at 1050 W. Hampden Ave. was sold for $15.7 million.
