Rosenberg's Bagels hopes to reopen in mid-October

KUSA - A popular Five Points bagel shop and deli hopes to reopen more than five months after it was damaged by a fire in the apartment above it.

Rosenberg’s Bagels and Delicatessen at 725 E. 26th Ave. has been closed since early May. In a Facebook comment, the owners said they hope to reopen by Sunday, Oct. 15.

Though the bagel shop’s store has been closed, it has been operating pop-up locations throughout the city. Information about those has been posted on its Facebook page:

Josh Pollack, the owner of Rosenberg’s, first learned about the fire at around 2 a.m. on May 2. Investigators later found the body of 29-year-old Shane Richardson in a closet in the apartment above Rosenberg’s. Richardson had been shot multiple times.

Brian Pattison, 30, was arrested in connection with Richardson’s death later that month.
