STEAMBOAT SPRINGS - Head northwest from Denver for a three-hour drive (some of which involves a scenic trip over Rabbit Ears Pass and through Routt National Forest) and you'll happen upon Steamboat Springs.

The Yampa Valley town is home to the Howelsen Hill ski area, the Steamboat ski resort, a bustling downtown area and the famous Strawberry Park Natural Hot Springs, all of which draws visitors year-round.
