DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Toastmasters International will bring with it 325 jobs when it relocates to Denver in 2018, and has plans to keep growing, the region's economic-development chief said Friday.
The nonprofit, which helps its 345,000 members improve speaking and leadership skills, purchased a 106,575-square-foot building in northern Douglas County for $19.5 million and plans to move into the building in July 2018.
Toastmasters members are located in more than 140 countries, so having access to an airport like DIA with direct international flights to eight countries was important, said Tom Clark, CEO of the Metro Denver Economic Development Commission. In addition, adding a headquarters to Denver is yet another sign that the city is growing in prominence on a national scale.
Decades ago, companies looking for somewhere to place their headquarters didn't give Denver a second thought, Clark said.
