Training for good works: Colorado Nonprofit Association offers unprecedented free help for members

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - The Colorado Nonprofit Association (CNA) is extending its professional development training programs to member organizations statewide free of charge next year in what is believed to be the first such effort of its kind in the U.S. for a state nonprofit association.

Last year, about 3,600 people received training from CNA at $35 to $65 per session. But even at that cost level, it was a barrier to many organizations that were focused on directing as much of their contributed funds into actual programs and away from overhead.

In addition to in-person training, CNA will hold webinars and live-streamed training sessions that will be accessible from anywhere in the state to CNA members.

Starting in January, that training will be free to all members. CNA announced the program at its annual meeting Thursday in Denver.
