Vestas' hot streak continues with new orders for wind turbines

Vestas Wind Systems continues to collect orders to build wind turbines for wind farms across North America.

The Danish company announced Tuesday that EDF Renewable Energy ordered 97 of Vestas' V100-2.0 megawatt turbines for wind farms to be built in Texas. The turbines will be capable of generating up to 194 megawatts of power, or enough to support the electricity demands of 58,200 homes.

The turbines are expected to be delivered and commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2015, Vestas said.
