Where Denver ranks among top 50 places for meetings

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Cvent is out with its latest annual ranking of cities as business meeting destinations, and Denver this year ranks No. 14, down a notch for the 2013 ranking.

Denver came in at No. 13 last year and No. 15 in 2012.

Cvent Inc. (NYSE: CVT) — a McLean, Virginia-based online business event management platform — says it evaluated more than 5,000 cities, basing its ranking on meeting and booking activity in its own supplier network, as well as each city's number of meeting and event venues.

According to Cvent's report, Denver has 95 meeting hotels — fewer than any of the cities ranked ahead of it — with 19,159 "sleeping rooms" for meetings, fewer than all but one of the higher-ranking cities.
