KUSA - A spokesperson for Frontier Airlines says “gating issues” are to blame for multiple delayed departures out of Denver International Airport Monday morning.
Rich Oliver, a Frontier spokesperson, says most of the delays are under 30 minutes – though a look at FlyDenver.com shows that some were much longer.
Planes were sitting too long at the gates or arriving early Monday morning – leaving other aircraft with nowhere to park, causing delays, Oliver said.
One Frontier flight – flight 820 to Kansas City – was delayed for eight hours. Oliver says this is separate from the gating issue, and that this was caused by an out-of-service aircraft impacting other flights.
There’s no word yet on when Frontier operations are expected to return to normal.
