DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - When Steve Jobs introduced the original iPhone in 2007, he cast the device as a revolutionary combination of iPod, phone and internet communicator. In retrospect, even the most hardened Android partisan can admit that Apple got virtually everything right with that initial product and that the most successful mobile phones following it mimicked the iPhone’s template.
Of course, the iPhone has changed since then, because innovation stops for no one and the companies that fail to evolve will eventually fail to compete. But through the anxieties brought on by ditching headphone jacks on the iPhone 7, or integrating Siri into iOS on the iPhone 4s and other changes over the years, there are elements of Apple’s (NASDAQ: AAPL) original iPhone nine years ago that still resonate today.
