DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Most managers won’t stumble into a swimming pool during an office holiday party. Most won’t get into a physical fight during a dance contest. And most won’t resign at the party.
But some have.
Staffing firm Robert Half surveyed American CFOs to find the most embarrassing things they have seen or heard managers doing at corporate holiday parties. All of the above behaviors made the list, as did recollections of a manager throwing food, one taking inappropriate pictures in a photo booth, and another falling asleep under a table.
It's an annual concern. Last year, NPR posted a list of office holiday party horror stories that landed in a similar vein, and several of them were directly associated with excessive alcohol consumption. For example, from NPR, one person knocked over a Christmas tree and another face-planted on the dinner table.
