43,000 desk lamps recalled due to shock hazard

KUSA - Thousands of desk lamps are being recalled because of a shock hazard.

West Elm is recalling the lamps because the electrical wire that runs through the lamp can be cut or fray by the lamp's adjustable joint, shocking consumers who touch it.

The lamps were sold at West Elm stores nationwide, West Elm's catalog and online from June 2014 to October 2017, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission

There have been 24 reports of the lamps shorting, sparking or getting hot, but there have been no reports of injuries.

Consumers should stop using the lamps and return them to West Elm for a full refund.
