DENVER - Saturday is expected to be the busiest day of the year at many thrift stores.

That's because people are rushing in to make year-end donations in order to get a credit on their 2011 taxes.

At Goodwill Industries, employees are preparing for the rush, hoping the "Procrastinator's Delight" donation program will help the organization make up a three percent decline in donations.

A spokeswoman for Goodwill says anyone looking to donate Saturday should expect lines at all 24 metro area locations, however she told 9NEWS that employees will do their best to make sure the experience is quick and easy.

"We are making it really, really convenient for everyone," Kristen Blessman, Vice President of Marketing for Goodwill Denver, told 9NEWS. "We have all hands on deck. Everyone at Goodwill is working today so we believe that we'll get everyone in and out and make it really convenient."

Goodwill accepts clothing, household items, toys, computers and vehicles. However, many thrift stores are unable to accept mattresses, infant car seats, and strollers or baby swings among other items.

If there is a question about whether or not a location can accept an item, check with the thrift store before dropping off the donation.
