DENVER - Authorities say a passenger was arrested Saturday after he allegedly made a comment that he had an explosive device on an aircraft at Denver International Airport.

According to officials at DIA, the passenger made the comment as the airplane pulled away from the jetway, but before it was able to take off.

DIA Spokesman Chuck Cannon says the man said he had the explosive C-4 in his carry-on luggage on Northwest flight 552, bound for Minneapolis.

The plane was towed away from the airport terminal while the threat was investigated, officials say.

Denver Police searched the plane, but no explosives were found.

Northwest Airlines Spokeswoman Michelle Aguayo Shannon says 140 passengers were aboard the aircraft.

Authorities say all of the passengers were re-screened before being allowed to re-board the flight. Flight 552 took off from Denver about three hours behind schedule.
