Melissa Snow is an English teacher at Sheridan High School. She taught all grades of students at the high school since she began working there in the fall of 2005, according to the school district. There are 500 students in the high school.

After the allegations surfaced against her earlier this month, Snow was put on administrative leave.

She was arrested on Nov. 5 as part of a joint investigation by the Denver Police and Sheridan Police Departments.

Investigators believe she sexually assaulted a student more than once at a location in Denver.

The district says the abuse allegedly happened off campus and was not related to a school activity or event.

Snow is charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and one count of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust with a pattern of abuse.

Snow is out of jail in lieu of $50,000 bond and is set to appear in court on Nov. 19 to be advised of the charges.
