Weber's body was found after he failed to show up for work. KOA radio says Weber was pronounced dead at the scene.

The New York Daily News reports Weber's apartment had been ransacked but no weapon was found.

The 47-year-old worked as a reporter at KOA and sister station KHOW from the mid-80's to the early 90's.

Kris Olinger, who hired Weber at KOA, says she's "absolutely shocked" at news of his death.

Weber was most recently a New York staple on WABC-AM radio where he worked for 12 years. Weber was laid off at WABC amid programming changes last year.

He had since worked as a freelancer for ABC News Radio. His last newscast was March 15.

He had also previously worked at KIMN-AM, as well as KGO-AM in San Francisco and KTLK-AM and KMPC-AM in Los Angeles.
