COLORADO SPRINGS - The search for a missing 23-month-old who police say was burned by his parents continues despite an Amber Alert.

Colorado Springs Police are looking for Emanuel Guzman and his parents Benito Guzman and Carmen Aguilera.

Police issued the Amber Alert late Friday night.

Both parents didn't appear in court on Thursday and custody of their son was transferred to the Department of Human Services.

Police say the parents may be trying to take Emanuel to Mexico.

They are facing charges relating to the alleged child abuse and burning of the boy.

Emanuel is considered endangered because he requires medical care for the severe burns he suffered in April. He has scars on his hands from the burns.

Police say they could be in two different vehicles: a tan 2004 Ford pickup with license plate number 491-SKZ or a brown 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Colorado license plate number 781-SLH.

Anyone who sees them is urged to contact police immediately.
