Man crashes car through post office wall

ENGLEWOOD - A post office has a gaping hole Friday after an elderly man confused the accelerator and brake pedals of his vehicle.

Englewood Police officers say the 88-year-old man slammed into the side of the Post Office at Inca Street and Lehigh Avenue. His vehicle broke the glass and crumbled part of the wall. No one inside the post office was hurt.

The driver was not injured but he was cited for careless driving. His name was not released.

Repairs to the wall started soon after the accident but no estimate on the cost of damages was given.
