Danice Day disappeared seven years ago from her Monte Vista Colo. home on January 9, 2002. Monte Vista is near Alamosa.

She was a 19-year-old mother of a then 2 1/2 year old son and an eight month old daughter.

Day's sister Jacqui Flint was flying to Colorado on Saturday to be with family.

"They do not know how long it will take to find out if it is definitely her," Flint said. "The sheriff says he is pretty sure it is her."

The Rio Grande Sheriff's office with the Utah Department of Public Safety Dive Team and the Apache County Sheriff's office located the remains in Lyman Lake State Park, Arizona.

Investigators have turned the remains over to the El Paso County Colo. pathologist for further DNA identification.

"We are kind of timid about feeling too much emotion as we've had so many false leads in the past two years," Flint said. "It's kind of a wave of emotions - one minute you're not sure you believe it."

Day would have been 27 now. Her son lives with his father, and her daughter lives with her paternal grandfather.

Authorities say the investigation into possible suspects continues. There is no word on what led investigators to the remains.
