Police say Vance Fulkerson, 63, used a hidden camera in the bathroom of his Greeley home to record guests.

Fulkerson was arrested Thursday.

Police are recommending charges of sexual exploitation of children and unlawful sexual contact.

The latter charge derives from the "Peeping Tom" law.

Fulkerson was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.

9NEWS made several attempts Friday to contact Fulkerson, but those attempts were unsuccessful.

Fulkerson started at UNC as a part-time professor in July 1989.

The school says it became aware of the accusations on Thursday.

9NEWS did a story about Fulkerson last year when he was directing a production of the musical "Hairspray."
