1 injured after head-on collision between SUV and fire engine

ADAMS COUNTY - One man was taken to North Suburban Medical Center after driving into a fire truck at the intersection of 104th Way and Brighton Road.

South Adams County Fire says the driver of the Sports Utility Vehicle said he was looking down for a second and when he looked up he hit the fire truck.

The driver of the SUV is in stable condition with bumps and bruises at the hospital.

South Adams County Fire says the firefighters were a little shaken by the accident but are not injured.

Both the SUV and the fire engine had extensive damage.

The Commerce City Police Department has cited the SUV driver with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
