Head-on crash ends apparent police chase

AURORA - Investigators were on the scene of a head-on crash on Thursday night that apparently happened at the end of a police chase.

Aurora Police says the crash happened near Chambers Road and 23rd Avenue.

Initial information is that officers with University of Colorado Denver Police Department at the Anschutz Campus were pursuing a person in a vehicle when it crashed into another car.

The officers apparently picked up a LoJack signal and started following the driver with the help of Aurora Police. That driver then started going the wrong way on Chambers and crashed into the other car.

Police say there were three people in the stolen car. One ran from the scene, another tried to leave but was caught and another was taken to a nearby hospital.

No names were released an the extent of the injuries was not known.
