posted by: Sara Gandy     5 months ago

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - The Powerball jackpot was expected to increase to an estimated $150 million for Saturday since no one matched all six of the numbers in the midweek drawing, the Multi-State Lottery Association said.

The winning numbers Wednesday were 7, 8, 20, 25 and 29. The Powerball was 11 and the multiplier was 5.

Players matching all five numbers and the Powerball would have won or shared the $131.7 million jackpot.

A Power Play ticket sold in North Carolina matched the first five numbers only to win $1 million. The top prize in Colorado was $50,000 for a Power Play ticket that matched the Powerball plus four of the other numbers, Colorado Lottery officials said.

Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.

The game is played in 30 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
