Accident kills motorcycle rider

FORT COLLINS - A motorcycle driver died early Saturday morning from injuries sustained in an accident with an SUV Friday.

Fort Collins Police say 27-year-old Peter Hiltbrand died around 3:24 a.m. at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.

Investigators say the accident happened around 6:02 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Drake Road and Raintree Drive.

Police say Hiltbrand was heading westbound on Drake and an SUV was northbound on Raintree.The driver of the SUV stopped for a stop sign at Drake before crossing the street, in front of the motorcycle, according to investigators.

Police say the motorcycle collided with the SUV and caught on fire..

The driver of the SUV, 22-year-old Blake Eihausen, was not hurt in the accident.

Witnesses report the motorcycle was speeding prior to the accident.

Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
