A breathtaking autumn drive

DURANGO - A drive along Highway 550 in Southwestern Colorado might be one of the most beautiful trips in the world during the fall.

This past week, the Aspen leaves were at their peak, and mountainsides were awash in yellow, gold and lime green.

This highway connects Durango, Silverton and Ouray with New Mexico to the South and Grand Junction to the North. It also passes very close to several ski resorts.

While this section of the Rocky Mountains will soon be blanketed under snow, the beautiful vistas are still attracting visitors from around the world.
